Coverage of Participation in Major Comedy Competition
(HOLLYWOOD,
September 17, 2007) If you are
in the San Francisco Bay Area and are a late sleeper on the weekends, get ready
to set your digital television recorder or VCR – Pooch
will be featured on the morning news. The
rising, Italian-Irish, Northern California-born and -bred comedic entertainer
known worldwide as Pooch proudly
announced today that he has secured an appearance on the CBS-5 KPIX Eyewitness News program in San Francisco. The live, in-studio taping, promoting Pooch’s participation in the $25,000 32nd Annual San
Francisco International Stand-Up Comedy Competition, will take place Saturday
morning, September 22, approximately 8:20 a.m.
Based in Hollywood since leaving San Jose in 1994, Pooch
will be returning to his beloved Bay Area to perform for the first time in more
than a decade. He will be performing in at
least five venues scattered throughout Northern California
from Wednesday, September 19, through Sunday, September 23.
“This is
a fantastic pleasure for me as I begin to bring my West Coast California
Gangster Comedy show to the nation,” saidPooch. “Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area I
always watched CBS’s KPIX affiliate and now it is a thrill to be a featured
guest on their Saturday morning news program in order to promote my participation
in the legendary San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition.”
At the
time of the taping Pooch will already
be in the midst of the competition’s second of two preliminary rounds,
competing against 14 other comedians.
After the preliminary rounds, the semi-finals and finals competitions will
take place the following two weeks with the overall winner receiving $7,500 and
a major boost to their comedy career.
